South African Mens Indoor Hockey

Congratulations to old boy Gerald Mpopo (Class of 2010) for making the South African Mens Indoor Hockey side last week.
The squad will attend camps and will be used to select the final African Qualifier side later this year. The African Indoor Hockey Cup of Nations will take place in South Africa this year with the current date under review due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The squads were selected based on performances at the recently completed Indoor Hockey IPT in KwaZulu Natal on making the squad for the Indoor World Cup Qualifier.
An amazing achievement – all the best Gerald.

KES OLD BOYS POP UP IN THE MOST UNLIKELY PLACES

This is Mike Wilkinson (Class of 1981) and Gregg Clark (Class of 1989) at the recent Pan American Games in Lima, Peru.
Mike was the Chief Medical Officer for Team Canada at the Games, and Gregg was there in his capacity as assistant coach of the Canada Men’s Hockey Team (Field Hockey).

We believe that Gregg still holds the record for the most capped SA Hockey Player in SA.

Gregg recognized Mike’s SA accent late one evening when working in the Team Canada support services lounge and got chatting…where they discovered the KES connection. Small World.
