KES Old Boys to take part in the World Pipe Band Championships!

The Transvaal Scottish Pipes and Drums (known as “The Jocks”) will be taking on the world this August at the World Pipe Band Championship in Glasgow, Scotland.

And we are proud to say that we have three King Edward VII School Old Boys and one of the School’s teachers will be taking part in this event. They are namely:

• Stephen McTaggart
• Grant Edgar (Current Band Tutor)
• Andrew Fok (KES Pipe Major of 2004 & 2005)
• Gareth McLuckie (Current School Teacher and MIC Band)

There is a long, rich history and relationship, dating back to 1902, between King Edwards and the Transvaal Scottish and so should any Old Boys or members of our Community wish to find out more about this upcoming adventure and/or support our Old Boys, please contact Andrew Fok on: andrew.fok@barclays.com

The School wishes our Old Boys and Mr McLuckie all the very best! Strenue from the Red Community.

KES OBA sneak the win at St John’s Gaudy Day celebrations!

Congrats KES Old Boys XV on your 19-14 win over SJC Old Boys!!

On the 11 July, the annual Gaudy Day held at St John’s College, had our Old Boys face up to the ‘old enemy’, the St John’s Old Boys in the classic clash.

At half time the OBA was 12-0 up, but then the St John’s Old Boys stepped-up a gear and scored 2 quick tries to lead 14-12. In the dying minutes of the game, our forwards kept possession and Valentine scored the winning try under the posts.

The trophy returns home until 2016! A great day of friendship shared with our friends ‘down the road’ and a firm favourite event on the calendar of the Old Boys Army.

Go School! Well done to our King Edward VII School Old Boys. Thank you to those who played and those who came our to support the Old Boys.
